This Moment

I was waiting.
Waiting for that moment where the non-noisemaking, lumpy-yet-soft piece of matter would actually mean something to Honey Girl. The moment where she would notice it's face and it's size and know that the matter would actually serve as a purpose in some sort of instinctual way.
It happened today. My baby became a little "momma". Loving, squealing, hugging, mauling.
Kid noticed it too.
A very special moment, indeed.

Oblivious

Right now, her hero is a four-year-old, in a polyester uniform with foam-stuffed faux muscles.
Her entertainment is "army" or "Star Wars", depending on the day.
Her possessions are constantly taken, she's consistently knocked over (accidentally, of course), stepped on, or left in her high chair for a bit too long, because, let's say, someone decided to bring the pet lizard inside the house.
She's oblivious. But not for long. I better enjoy it while it lasts.
