Love it. Love everything about it. When I die, scatter my ashes down the river. Not joking. Kennedy Meadows is such a spiritual and emotional place for me.
I have memories of being so young and playing in the river, riding our horses in the meadows, eating Costco muffins (which, God forbid, would have never been in our household!).
What a dream to be able to give my kids the same experience AND to be able to share it with the closest friends possible! This is our second annual trip the the sacred grounds, and I am delighted to announce that we have already reserved our cabins for next year!
Some highlights of the trip:
*Boys were good on the way up. Napped according to plan.
*Carter learned how to cast his fishing pole and practiced 10 out of 12 hours of the day.
*The kids played together so well. We have footage of them dancing together, so cute. They also played sports, threw rocks, fished, got dirty, played tag, and went on "nature walks" together. It was heart warming, and at the same time, super relaxing as they all entertained each other.
*Hailey ate dirt, a lot of it! Thankfully Everett was too young to crawl, so he stayed happy in the walker watching all the action.
*Everett cut his second tooth the second day there!
*Both boys slept peacefully and well. Jason and I did too. The cabins (they're new) were so nice and clean, new mattresses, pure pine, insulated (seriously, I guess we can't call it camping anymore!)
*Campfire fun with the adults. Lots of conversation about our future compound, the politics of it, the rules, the layout, etc. It's going to be utopia, people. Utopia.
*6 mile run with the girls--nice brisk mountain air.
