Vacation down at the Mittmann Manor means movies. I'm a third-generation movie-lover. That's right.
Set the scene:
Popcorn, check.
Chocolate, check.
Large bottle of water to quench the year's quota of hydrogenated oil and sodium, check.
We've been here for two days and have seen two movies, go figure. My mom and I hit up the chick flick, He's Just Not That Into You. Daddy Mock and I hit up Slumdog Millionaire.
And would you believe that we are two for two?
Avoiding the well descriptive movie review(s). Go see these movies. Great stuff.
For the first, I would say by association, it's a mix of When Harry Met Sally (on my top 5 list, for sure) and Love Actually (top 3 "holiday" list). Meaning it's a fabulously funny and cute movie. Probably mostly for chicks, but I'm pretty sure Daddy Mock would get a few good laughs in (not that he's chick-like, but he can appreciate our sense of humor, so back off his manlihood). Oooh, great cast too.
For the second, it's just capturing. From the moment it starts to the moment it ends. Excellent cinematography, and I was in love with the golden hue of lighting cast throughout the movie. Since it fit in with my cultural fiction book rampage I've been on, I felt as if I knew the characters already. I can honestly say it was less than cliche, yet left you more than satisfied at the end. Go see it. It gave us (okay, me) all the more reason to hop on a plane, find our two adopted babies, and bring them home with us (more on that later).
I'm secretly hoping I can set the record for three movies in one week, but we'll see how that goes. I suppose I do have some responsibility around here.
