This kid has always required a specific quota of zzz's to have a naturally "happy heart". When his quota is reached, he is exactly this pleasant to be around:
What's fascinating is much like his Daddy, once that sleep is lost (due to vacation, for example), he can spend up to a week making up for it. Putting in 13-14 hours of sleep at night and 2 hr naps during the day (Although, I'm pretty sure Daddy Mock doesn't take a nap at work). I always like sleep catch-up. It makes for a peaceful home. That is, until he awakes.
You see, during sleep catch-up phase, a very sad and whiny heart comes out, baring it's ugliness and natural selfish ambition.
But.
When Kid is caught up, the result is quite pleasing to my heart and a constant reminder at how amazingly different each body is and the requirements for one to be in full-energy mode.
Bee, on the other hand, is much like his Momma (not whilst pregnant in the first trimester, though!). He can survive on X amount of sleep and be fine with it. No catch up needed, just as long as he gets a good night here and there. Two years younger than Kid, he currently requires the same exact amount of sleep as Kid. Go figure.
Have you noticed sleep differences in your household (and in correlation with attitude)?
