Fa-la-la-la-la

Family Work Day! Which means Christmas decor up, outdoor lights up and two busy bees following their Daddy around like little puppies!
One slight scrooge mishap. Daddy Mock and I decided not to bring out the big tree this year. It usually takes half the day to put up and half a day to tear down, not to mention the chaos and time of lighting the thing...anyway, with Scarlett's unknown arrival time, we figured the least amount of tear down time the better (as we both know that I will not do well bringing my newborn home to Christmas decor--wishful thinking that perhaps she would choose to come that early!).
So we settled for a lot of lights for holiday cheer, a nativity scene, a garland, stockings, and a very small 4 ft tree that the boys still had a blast decorating. Apparently the size of the tree does not matter as both boys had a blast decorating it (even if it only took ten minutes!).
Please tell me I'm not the only one who has chosen to bypass the traditional Christmas tree? Anyone? I'm feeling a bit guilt-ridden over the effects this may have on my small children!
