Bringing Up Boys

Boys.
I constantly seem to have moments of panic, where my boys are uncontained, loud, obnoxious, mischievous, and dirty (well, one manages to stay clean most the time). I think to myself, "What have I done? What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change?"
Thankfully, Dr. Dobson's book completely supports all mothers in need of an answer...they're just boys.
They need to yell, they need to run, they need to jump, they need to wrestle, they need to soak their hands in the wet dirt, they need to climb, they need to swing...
(by the way, I love how these two are on this photo...that would be Kid's hand but Bee's foot)
My favorite "point" of the book thus far?
As long as you can keep them alive, you're doing great. How's that for encouraging to all you moms of boys?
(however, even the idea of doing that with Bee can be a bit overwhelming at times!)
Although they may be loud and corny at times, they sure are simple and have very few needs. Food. Food. Water. Hugs. Sleep. Dirt. Play.
(and in that order according to my boys)
Notice there was no mention of bathrooms? Yes, indeed, a perk of being a boy!
After finishing The New Strong Willed Child (by Dobson as well), I was still in the gear of parenting books and decided to start Bringing Up Boys...I did read it before Kid was born, but have forgotten most of it and was unable to relate to it until now.

If you have a child that's remotely strong-willed, or if you feel out of control, I highly advise The Strong Willed Child. It's main premise is to balance your parenting with love and control, something children seek out daily.
I'm not quite done with Bringing Up Boys, but I have to say, I'm enjoying it and am a bit freaked out over what's to come!

Any personal feedback on either of these books? I would be glad to hear it!
