Right Now

Things aren't busy, and I am loving that. Taking advantage of the time here, at home, to just do little things here and there that I haven't had the chance to do in the past few months.
Hence blog negligence.

Jason's still working a ton, but we're in our new rhythm with that.  Since my work has slowed down, we are enjoying hunkering down with this brrrrr cold weather we have been experiencing.

The twins are becoming so incredibly distinct now.  I am loving, actually, adoring their relationship right now. It's like watching a social experiment/documentary.

Elias: cautious, extremely coordinated with his hands (he throws a ball like a two year old), talkative (Dada, Mama, ball, all -for all done-, uh oh), and sweet.  He is very calm and cuddly.

August:  Do you see the difference just in images?!  This guy is Mr. Personality.  I guess we've known that from the beginning, but he's hilarious.  He's busy.  Super busy, in fact, the busiest of my five.  He's fast, and extremely coordinated.  He can stack blocks and those little round things around a peg with his eyes closed....yet he only says one word (Daddy)...but he gibber jabbers all day long.  He opens and closes cabinets (none of my other kids even thought to do that), goes up and down the stairs... I lose him, a lot, because he's fast and sneaky. :-) Ps, do you notice the scars on his head?  Busy.

There has been a lot of pretend play around here.  It's so fun to be a part of Everett's world.  His imagination knows no bounds.  I remember storytelling and the joy of make believe, so I tend to join in with him.
The chief taking a nap(that's a gladiator skirt I made years ago for them...now it's turned tribal):
They got this teepee (a business write off, you see) for Christmas.  We celebrated a few weeks early as we tend to travel and the turkey season messes with actual Christmas Christmas, so we surprised them one Saturday morning. I try to prepare them when the season starts that they will only receive one present each, from us, and one from each set of grandparents.  It works out so nicely that way.

I don't like a lot of toys in the house and I love good toys being used over and over again, so we try to keep it simple.  No batteries.  The teepee was a welcome addition to their room.

It inspired all of us to add a few things to their space, so hopefully I will be posting some picts of the happenings in there.  The boys have been very hands-on with it since the beginning, so it's a special spot for them to be.

And, that's about that.
Maybe we'll be back in less than a week, this time.
In fact, let's celebrate my FIRST weekend off for about nine months.  Whoot whoot!
