For the past two years, I have been so excited for school to start. But with the summer that we have had, and sending another one off, I'll be honest, I'm a bit sad.
Homeschooling has always been an option, but with our lovely & small Christian school, I can't imagine not being a part of it and not having the staff and families a part of my children's lives.
However, I miss our adventuring already!
Towards the end of summer, as the school year was approaching, I imagined teaching by the rivers.
It was appealing, I'll tell you.
I've read a lot on Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, & Montessori.
You would think my heart is there, which it is... for the youngens.

But for these two, my heart lies in our little school and the families that attend.
So, I happily said goodbye to the next student.
You can tell he was really bummed about it. :-)
Everett has been ready to leave his Momma since about two years old, perhaps that's why I cling to him the most! He picked out his outfit, did his hair (with far too much hair product), and pre-packed his bag. There was no looking back. There never was with him.
I LOVE his Kinder teacher. She's perfect for him.
He came home beaming (similar to this image).
And the too cool to smile second grader...
He picked his outfit out, did his hair as well. I tell you, they are becoming more and more responsible every day!
I asked him if he saw Everett on the play ground... his response:
"Of course. We do a brother hug every recess and we played together too".
Melt.
So proud of these two. They've had a really great summer as brothers and have bonded more than I could ever imagine. Watching them worship the Lord in the same chapel, hang on the same monkey bars, and hug on the same teachers makes every single photo session worth it.
Have a great year, boys!
