Potty Talk

I loathe potty training.
I always have at least one nursing baby while potty training which always makes the task a bit more complicated.  Potty training means hunkering down at home for a week or so, which is quite irritating. And to be honest, the cleaning of messes, the constant cheerleading and the treat giving are not things I enjoy.
I always choose to go cold turkey, meaning no pull-ups or no process...simply, "Good morning, today you are using the potty!".

Carter was pretty simple to train, but it took a good week before I was comfortable bringing him anywhere.

Everett...let's say that the Retro Rental that we lived in last year is well fertilized. He didn't give a poop. Pun most definitely intended.  I took my mom's advice and waited until he did care...it was much easier at that point, but still took about a week before we could go anywhere.

Lulu, on the other hand... I thought she would be just as difficult, but quite the contrary.  I took her removal of diapers and sticking her hands in her own waste as a sure sign she was ready, so I moved on it quickly.  Yesterday was the first day she responded in a positive way towards using the potty, so we made a date out of getting girly underwear and letting her pick her own potty.
We bought juice boxes and potty treats.
We were set.
We got home at about 5pm.  I was planning on starting this morning, but Lulu wanted to start immediately.
As did the boys.  They were so excited for her. They kept bringing her juice boxes and treats each time she went in the potty! The sang the "pee pee" song and danced with her.  Read her books while she waited.

I waited for her to become a little bit defiant or temperamental, but no, she reveled in the attention.
This morning, I feared that she wouldn't want to hop on the potty, but surely, she was ready!
Not once today did she have an accident.  Not once!
I nursed the babies without fearing a puddle would be on the couch.
The girl went outside, inside, played in her room and each time she had to go, sat herself directly on the potty...could it be this easy?

I heard girls are easier to train than boys.  I will back that statement up 100%!

P90X (the toddler version)

We've all heard of the fitness craze, P90X. We have our own personal P90X in this household...
It stands for Pushing 90 Times.

Lulu, the two-year-old who is currently very temperamental, pushes going to her crib to return with a happy heart about 90 times. It starts with this:

...and then, sometimes up to an hour and a half later, it ends like this:

Our very own P90X gives you results, let me tell you.  Firstly, climbing stairs a gazillion times with an upset toddler in your arms works those quads indeed.  Secondly, your patience gets an excellent workout, as well as your heart. Third, you may end up with a happy toddler...and count your blessings, because if you don't, you just get another workout up those stairs...and who doesn't want nice tight quads for the summer?

Today, we are currently offering our P90X program for anyone to come and try.  What's better? We are offering this at no cost! But you must stay for a while or you won't see those guaranteed results.

*Parents are not subject to stay, in fact, original parents will most likely be out on a date, cruising the town or possibly just enjoying silence.
