Critical Thinking

The boys and I are on the way to Carter's gymnastics "open gym", when Carter sparks up a conversation:

C: "Hey, Mommy's a lady and Daddy's a guuuuuuuuuy (guy said in a very dramatic, Tim Allen-kind-of-way).
M: "You're right, son!"
C: "Everett's a baby, Carter's a kid!"
M: "Yes, you're right!"
C: "Daddy wears tennis shoes, Mommy wears flip flops"
M: "Again, you're right!"

This conversation continued until we pulled into the parking lot. By the end he was comparing Opa's dog (Sage) and Grammy's dog (Zoe). In my mind I was thinking at how well of a tool this will be for when he takes the SAT's...

Since Sunday Carter has also been expressing his love/ affection by saying "Happy Father's Day". All day Sunday it was "Happy Father's Day, Daddy"... Now it's either"Happy Father's Day, Mommy", "Happy Father's Day, Gigi", etc. We're going to have to work on that one.
