My mom was a devout hippy, in fact, her core being is a hippy to this day. I used to mock it, even be disgusted by her love for all things "free".
I eat my words.
Again.
I'll spare you the details of our journey to hippyville (do you really want to know that I don't shower more than once a week or that I currently have wheat berries sprouting on the counter?), but it's a fun one, and I am honored to have girlfriends join me--just as my mom did.
And for today's step: A compost pile! I've given up on the fact that we are still renting. It's not going to prevent us from our own form of "homesteading", even if it is in suburbia!

I love this candid. Carter and Daddy were taking a break from all the hard work.
So cute.
