Fantastic Giveaway!

Another sweet giveaway!

This one is perfect for back-to-school! Melissa has been mentioned several times as she is another close friend who inspires me in so many ways. She loves the Lord and has a passion for natural and simple living. She introduced the idea of an "unpaper" household (substituting diapers, paper towels, & napkins for cloth) to me a few years ago and we haven't looked back.

It's out of her desire to live on a budget and be such a steward of nature's supplies that her company, Evelyn Fields was born.

Evelyn Fields offers her top selling (many times featured on Etsy's front page, BTW) reusable, dye-free & lined snack bags, reusable coffee filters (genius!), unpaper towels, and bread-rising towels in her store. She will even customize snack bags so that your kid is well aware that he needs to put that bag back in his lunch pail!
Melissa is offering 2 snack bags of your choice (make sure to mention if you want yours custom, like Kid's above) and a coffee filter, your choice of size/shape. A perfect back-to-school package as the kids need those bags and us moms need our coffee!

The rules for entry:
-Visit Evelyn Fields and leave a comment including your favorite snack bag choice.
-For an additional entry, make Evelyn Fields a "Favorite" of your stores on Etsy.
Giveaway ends on Friday, when the winner will be announced.

Bonus!
If you order between now and Sept 5th, Melissa is offering a 20% discount if you put the code "Beehive" in upon checking out.

*ps, I told you my friends were talented. :-)

Back to Cloth, Back to Reality

Honey Girl is six weeks already. No more excuses, back to cloth, back to reality... it was a nice break using disposables, but I have to say, I was ready to start saving money and stop all that excess waste again. I forgot how many diapers get tossed into the trash.
I ordered some new diapers for Honey as Bee is still in his. I am a die-hard fan of Bum Genius, and they even managed to come up with a more genius plan than their others...it's called the "Flip System". Basically, it's very similar to their 3.0's, but no pocket to stuff, just an insert to lay in. You can simply wipe clean the cover and reuse each time you change.
Honey has had them on for two days now, no leaks, and she has had no complaints! Plus, to see a pink diaper is just precious. To see a blue diapered boy kissing a pink diapered girl is even more precious!
Flip even has disposable inserts as well (which are free right now if you order $50 worth of anything at Cotton Babies)... these are perfect for travel or being out and about...one thing I can always be sure of...my children love to handle their "business" when we're out, which always creates for some sort of public restroom nightmare...this is where the disposable insert comes in handy!
Let me know if you would like any more info on the Flip System... if you would like more info on cloth diapering, you can click here or here. Do you cloth diaper? I am curious to see what systems work for other people as I haven't ventured too far from mine!
