What do you do when the sun pokes it's very-missed head out for the first time in weeks?
Boycott the vehicle and do errands the primeval way.
Boycott the vehicle and do errands the primeval way.
We have access to a path that allows us to easily (I write easily very loosely as you can see, Bee is in no hurry to go anywhere in these photos) hit up Trader Joe's, Blockbuster, Home Depot, Starbucks (you know, the most important), etc. We try to do our grocery trip by foot weekly, however, with the fog and the "June Gloom", it's been less than inspiring to pack up and head out by foot.
What I enjoy every time we do errands the natural way (which is happening more and more since I've been forbidden to run--as IF!)? Watching my boys and their lack of "clock". Apparently they are never in a rush to get things done. They spend their time touching, kicking, throwing, picking, and in yesterday's case, pooping.
(to which I was less-than prepared...one wipe does not cut it with cloth diapies, let me tell you.)
That is what life is all about, isn't it? Noo, not the pooping (although it can be a very fun conversation), I'm talking about taking your time--walking by foot, when one eliminates the rush and the need to "go", it's amazing how much less money you spend.
In fact, living so close to a city filled with wonderful stores such as Anthropologie, Urban Outifitters, Nordstrom, etc.--one of our strategies for not spending unnecessary money is by taking our time doing the mundane things... and you know what? Your children gain an education through the process (although, one day I will educate my child on the importance of a well-placed product display--can't get rid of the marketing training entirely).
Coming soon, a super duper easy shredded chicken recipe... sure to please the husband and the kids (and healthy to boot!).
