I have a two page list of "to do's:.... ironically none of them cost money, just a lot of repurposing, spray painting, and time.
Yes, time.
Something a mom of three little ones and shall I say a part-time single parent doesn't have a lot of (remember Daddy Mock is gone Mon-Thurs on business).
Anyway, between yesterday and today, it felt good to get something done with my time!
I attempted a ruffle pillow the other day. It was a disaster. I used an old sheet and cut the strips too thin...they ravelled so much that they lost width and now you can see the pillow behind, sooo, I had to make a new pillow cover just to hide it! Miss Delicious scored on a trunk of vintage doilies. She was kind to share a few with me. I love knowing that at some point this doily was used in someone else's home, to entertain, host a plant, or perhaps just sit with it's friends in a velvet-lined drawer. Now it's purpose is to cling to this Anna Maria Horner fabric. Poor doily. At least it will get to witness many-a-wrestling matches on the barren floor below.

Love myself some pom-pom edging! Such an easy way to add a bit of whimsy to a simple pillow.
As you will soon see, the master bath is a bit of a "challenge", with it's mauve sink, toilet, and tiled shower...it has other challenges as well, but I decided to work with the mauve and add some coordinating Anna Maria Horner fabric in there as well.
What do my kids do while the crafting is taking place?
Well, today for example:
-1 hr bath time, mid-morning, as it was raining and I needed them occupied (poor kids, as I got them out the water was near freezing!).
-break in rain, so we spent 30 minutes outside. I sat and hand sewed the doily on while they looked for worms, chased each other, and spun out on their quads.
-"solo time", an essential for a Mommy with no Daddy for four days. Plus, they love it. Something about a change in scenery, boundaries, or something, but they're up to an hour now and it's sacred.
-Honey Girl, well, she just sleeps or hangs out with me while I sew. She's truly a special girl. She loves watching and talking. I occasionally look over to her just admiring her Mommy and it makes my heart melt.
-Drawing...my kids love magna doodles! In the past few days, Kid has astounded me with his letter drawing. I don't even need to sit with him to help anymore...here he is with his name that he did all by himself. Yesterday he wrote out skateboard! (I had to tell him how it was spelled).

Nice work, Kid, and thanks to all three of you sweeties for allowing Mommy to get some things on the list crossed off!
