Just Plain Beat

Still no internet here. That's the country, I tell you.
I'm sure there is probably one installer for the whole county, and when he shows up, we will probably know him. That's the country. When you drive through "downtown", there is a US General Merchandise store, advertising the following: vacuums, vacuum repair, swords, guns, and tackle. That's the country. I should also mention when driving "downtown", you will pass The Sportsman, the only bar in California (or I hope anywhere in the nation!) that sells liquor and guns/ammunition in the same place. Now that's the country.

I should also mention that anywhere you go, you know someone. If not, you will make a new friend. The other day, the three kids and I were at the hardware store buying yet another can of spray paint (Retro Rental is getting a new look). Anyway, as I was loading all of the kids in the car, a kind man, of whom I did not know, not only folded up my stroller (impressive, no?), but picked it up, loaded it in the trunk and peaked his head over to say, "Ma'am, I hope you don't mind but I loaded your stroller for you" and proceeded to walk off. Oh how I love the country!
We are beat. Even though we are enjoying our love of the country, we are spending nearly every waking moment making this house a home. Downsizing yet again, we've been purging even more (oh, how I love purging!). The kids are beat, because, yes, they get to play daily with their best friends. There will be many-a-stories involving Miss Delicious and her crew as we are truly our own commune. It's good stuff.

Did I mention that Daddy Mock for the time being is living in The Wind Tunnel for a few months until he finds a new job? We had our first trial week last week and it was a slap in the face! I realized how much a partner is needed in this parenting business.
Internet is schedule to arrive on Tuesday. In the interim, I will find myself being productive rather than blogging about it...ha!
