A Review

This weekend, in review (one of our favorite weekends, and it's a necessity to document it for our family journal) ...
Parade watching (and light snacking):
The crew this year. It's interesting to see who will be there every year based on what's going on in our lives. I love how the kids actually sit for the whole parade...in the past years, it was a bit too long for them, but alas, we continue to add to the parade party, so there is always one busy baby! Notice Honey Girl's foot hanging down in this photo? She got plenty of attention from many grandmas wanting a piece of a baby!
Lots of Mommies holding their babies. Next Door #3 snoozing with his Mommy, little Honey snoozing with hers, and Gwendolyn, who was just featured over on my photography blog!
And the annual Mommy Photo. I think I will truly be sad when one of these photos does not include a mother with child. That time will be here before we know it, and I guess the time will be here soon when our kids are actually in the parade rather than watching it.
I have to mention the "Cozy Coach"... this is our new guest house! Retro Rental only boasts three bedrooms, and well, we all know it's a necessity for grandparents to visit, for multiple reasons. Grammy was a bit forlorn over the idea of not being able to visit often due to the inconvenience factor, so, lo and behold, Opa pulled through (yet again) and they chose to purchase a mobile guest home. It's a trailer, but it's too nice to be called a trailer, so we gave it a new name, Cozy Coach. It fits. The kids love it and watched a fireman video on the revolving flat screen TV. Life's rough, huh? Opa and I joke about how much his woman is costing him, but in the end, he still owes me big as I'm the one who set him up with that woman (my mom).
After the parade, we hosted the annual bbq over at Retro Rental. It was also the official "knock the fence down" ceremony to create a gate between Family Next Door's home and ours. Let the commune begin. We had a great time with all of our friends and family, and I would have to say the kids did as well, being that they had two backyards to play with.

For Mother's Day, we went to church as a family and then had our Mother's Day lunch with our whole local family. Retro Rental has definitely been broken in for it's entertainment factor and pulled through for us on all ends. It made my heart happy to see "Baby Sleeping" signs on all the doors, just like the old days at the Fun Farmhouse...

Speaking of sleep, we're exhausted. It was a busy weekend, and by adding another child to the equation (and another year to my age!), I'm feeling it more this year than ever! Normally I don't even make coffee, if I do, I'll have maybe a half cup... This morning I'm working on my second cup. Getting old is no fun, kids.
I hope your Mother's Day weekend was a success!
