There once was a family, who moved to a make-shift commune, in hopes of reaching higher sustainability. The head of the household started this quest by building some garden beds, then later followed by completing a chicken coop.
Chickens were brought in.
Eggs were laid.
The support of the head of said household decided that homegrown eggs required pretty homes themselves, which beget the perfectly aqua egg holder (which makes the support of the head very happy every time she opens the refrigerator).
Each family member named a hen.
Pictured is Ruby, she seems to be the one who runs the show, however, she's the smallest of them all.
The others are Rosie (named by Bee, of which the family was incredibly impressed by his stellar chicken naming skills), Dahlia (named by Grammy), Jemima, aka: Sugar (head of household), and Obi Wan Kenobi (Kid...he was told she was a girl and he responded that Obi Wan could most definitely pass as a girl's name).
The hens were set to roost on their first night in their new home.
The children of the household rose eagerly to check if anything was produced from the recent additions (sparing no time to clean up from a bit of dirt play on the way).
Indeed there was. The first night brought one egg.
And the happy egg holder has remained partially filled since.
The end.
