Interior cinder blocks, you see? A dark and small kitchen. Cabinets that couldn't hold dishes because of their design...original 60's everything. When looking at this photo, it's hard to see that the house looked like that just four weeks ago! No wonder it sat on the market for a while!
After:
There is still quite a bit to do. I'm working on a few projects to complete this space, but the main work has been done.
This entire wall was a pantry. we utilized it by keeping one size a walk-in pantry (that extends to the ceiling!), moving the fridge and creating some additional cabinet space. My cousin helped build the farm table which was made from reclaimed 1800's barn wood from a neighbor.
My view from cooking or washing dishes. It's so peaceful here!
Wildflowers gathered this morning.
We used plaster to cover the cinder block. The most cost efficient way to hide those ugly things! I am so happy with the industrial-type look it achieved.
The back room was actually an outdoor utility room, mostly used for potting materials and storage. We took out the ugly door, threw an area rug in there and now it's my cheery sewing room!
This house is small. That is why the dining is eat-in and I am standing in the living room as I took this photo. Again, some things have not been finished, but there is an endless list of the to-do's, so I chose to post instead of waiting!
ps-please don't notice the dirty windows...just another item on the to-do list!
