Kennedy Meadows, 2015

Another great year at Kennedy. This was our eighth year and I am afraid I am running out of things to say about it in fear of being redundant. It's always a great time and by far the number one favored place of my children (and of Jason and I).  Our group of friends have come to cherish this time as our schedules have pulled us further apart.  This is a wonderful way to come together and reflect on what God is doing in us and through us. For some of us, it was the first year with no cribs or diapers (um, yay for that!!), others, news of new expectancy.  The older kids would wake up and head straight to the river, because get this... they can actually fish and gut on their own now!! No more detangling or hook tying.  This was a breakthrough year for Jason and I.

The other group is known at camp as the "littles", they could always be found at the horses.  They figured out later in the week that if they raided our fridges, grabbing carrots and apples, the horses and mules would actually pay attention to them.

Scarlett was in her element.  She's very passionate about horses and the biggest smile was on her face all week.

Everett and I had plans to do a trail ride with a few of his friends.  This was a new experience for him as you have to be seven to ride on a trail. I kept experiencing moments of nostalgia as these very trails I had ridden with my dad on our own horses as a kid.  To see him so natural upon the horse was quite comforting and exciting.  Doing it again, through the eyes of a parent is all the more better. Man. Good stuff.
That's him in the front, kicking his horse. ;)
The annual group picts.

More fishing and gutting and fishing and gutting.  We were well-fed.

On the last day, Carter jumped out of bed and bundled Elias up (as did Everett with Gus).  Their goal was to have their baby brothers catch a fish this trip.  Lo and behold...
It was such a great time.
We had a few short fevers here and there (and I am currently in bed with one, boo), but overall another relaxing, refreshing, wonderful time with family and friends.
Until next year!
