Over the Hump (and with a bump)

Seriously, I'm not sure why I pick the worst possible time to take a pregnancy photo... this was taken after a five hour road trip, no makeup, and certainly I didn't just get done scrubbing my house down...alas, next photo MUST be a little more glam... I deserve at least one glam pregnancy photo, right? Maybe even wash my hair a day or two before?
Scarlett and I at 22 weeks:
Pregnancy cravings:
-Subway wheat turkey and provolone 6-inch with all the fixings including masses of olives, pickles, mustard and vinegar. Hold the mayo.
-Coffee...after Kennedy Meadows and Miss Delicious' afternoon lattes... my body has not regained it's caffeine-free pureness. Shame on me.

Similarities:
--Weight gain (6 lbs-same as both boys at this point, although it's crazy the difference in my body shape. I was digging the non-hip widening that I experienced with the boys. I never changed out of my pre-pregnancy jeans and was able to wear them with both pregnancies till the end... this one, not so much. In fact, I can't even fit them above my hips... have I mentioned my hips are hurting, c-o-n-s-t-a-n-t-l-y?).

Differences:
-The above mentioned hip scenario... My back also feels fatter and wider, he he. I am looking at this hip-widening-thing as a positive sign as I'm thinking my pelvis may open up more for this baby. Maybe this is why I had two subsequent breech babies? I do have a chance to have a VBAC with this round (can you believe it, it's almost unheard of), and I will be doing everything within my power to get it (that with a lot of prayer)... I have dreamt of a natural home birth for as long as one starts thinking of births (ha!)... I won't get the home part as risk factor is too high, but I am praying for a natural delivery...join me on that, please, I will take all I can get!

Oh, and I haven't puked in two weeks! Whahoo! I'm also experiencing much more energy and the intense desire to nest (although I'm somewhat stuck for a few weeks until we figure out our game plan).

Sun Kissed

Just a mom and her boys packed up the car and headed to the beach. Sounds like a simple task, doesn't it? Well, thankfully it was!

Bee spent most the time exploring sand.
While Kid found more things to fill our nature box.
This time, Kid didn't get caught up in the waves (even with the camera around Mommy's neck)!
And we practically had the beach to ourselves. It was a fine time had by all.
Quickly I found that snapping photos while watching two busy boys gallop around in the water was not the safest task... instead, I surrendered to the art and enjoyed sand castle building, snuggling salty skin, and skipping in small puddles the tide left behind.
I took a moment to watch these two and take in what it was like to have just two boys. I also took a moment to look at the ocean through their eyes, so large, loud and powerful. How blessed they are to be raised in an area where one week they experience the mountains and the next, their soaking their toes in the sand!
