Failed!

Carter has been obnoxious lately as he has now discovered he is a boy. Boys tend to be loud, smelly, fast, rough, and ultra-annoying. My firstborn is no exception. I feel like I am constantly guiding, disciplining, correcting. This is a new stage as before he was so compliant and trusted everything mom said was true and right!

So, as I am preparing lunch for the both of us, he's already sitting at the table (which is nicely set by Mr. C himself), banging his fork. He knows this is not allowed and knows that it seriously pushes my buttons. I yell from the kitchen, "Carter, you know that you are not allowed to bang that fork on the table. You do it again and I will take it away and you will have to eat with your fingers".

It's silent. Big sigh of relief from mom.

Then he yells, "MOMMY, CARTER'S TESTING YOU". (While his arm is up in the air with his fork ready to dive to the table)
