Pungent Poop

Everett chewing on his delicious organic brown rice cake complete with organic banana spread.

Easy E starts early. I am no advocate for starting a baby on solids before 6 months. Breast is best, right? Well, of course I eat my words again (slight pun intended). Everett seemed so ready, and although he's only one week shy of 6 months, I allowed him to indulge, and boy did he. I also don't trust what pediatricians say or recommend and therefore boycotted the fortified baby cereal bunk and went straight to the good stuff (much like Carter experienced as a wee one).

And did Everett choke a few times eating his first rice cake with banana spread? Slightly. Did he enjoy it? Absolutely. He also enjoyed gnawing on a slightly-steamed carrot stick, sucking down bitter organic squash from our neighbor's grandma's garden, and devouring a poor and helpless half-peach. He's been doing great with his new discovery, however, I forgot what a mess it is. Add a two-year-old to the equation, and it's pure chaos. But at least every one's fed, right?

Having fun with the texture of avacados.

Did I mention the fact that I miss those sweet-mustardy breast milk poops? I can never return. I now get to smell and witness the minefield that solid food creates in his toddler-size-4 diapers...
