Mannerly Conduct

I have noticed over the short course of mommyhood that things often happens in patterns and just when you get used to the daily sleeping, eating, or behavioral routine, something changes.

Carter had a rough two weeks a ways back (well, of course, as noted he had two molars break through, could be the culprit). Lots of discipline, lots of character building. Lots of time sent on the bed, specifically over meal time.

We've been learning a lot about having a cheerful heart, having a giving heart, a happy heart, a loving heart, and an obedient heart.

I'm amazed to see all the work pay off daily. He's been such a jewel, such a sweet boy. He has been really into "snuggle time", he's starting to teach Everett his manners, and has grown leaps and bounds in his shyness towards strangers. If he starts to act up or get frustrated, I will remind him to have a ___ heart (one of the above)... he simply looks at me and repeats (prompted of course!) "I choose to have a happy heart". And he does. It's amazing.

Another sweet thing that's of late: He's been expressing a lot of interest in Jesus and praying. We pray before meals, at bedtime and when he gets hurt or disciplined. Now, out of the blue he will request to pray to Jesus. It's so sweet. He will also randomly remind me that Jesus lives in his heart. Oh, and so far his favorite Bible character is Samson or Goliath, typical boy.
