Terrifically Two! (and one-half)

Carter Stephen Mockabee. Our first born son. You are a delight. You are so joyful, full of life, affection, emotion, and awareness for other people's feelings.

You are pretty much exactly like your father! The last few months have been nothing short than a joy to watch you grow into a boy. You are compliant, you are smart, you are funny, you are "all boy", you're a Mommy's boy and a Daddy's boy. You have become very social and polite in different circumstances--you are a chatter box.

This is what you have discovered or have been into the last 6 months:
-You let go of the obsession of sports and moved onward to tools, tractors, dinosaurs, fishing, and books (I am so proud!). Don't get me wrong, you still like to shoot a hoop and pitch a ball!

-You have reached a high level of independence. Some days I experience pure guilt as I realize I have not sat down to play with you because you play on your own all day.
-After about 3 difficult months of consistent "child rearing", we are starting to see the fruits of our labor. You are aware of the "heart" of things and respond very quickly when reminded of a "cheerful heart", "giving heart", "sharing heart", "loving heart", "happy heart"...
-You still love music, playing your guitar and drums
-You have gotten so daring... my cautious boy has been replaced by a climber and a risk-taker (whoohoo!). You push the limits at the playground which I love witnessing. You're still true to your nature, though. You will practice climbing a certain station time after time until you have the confidence to do it without completely concentrating.
-You are potty trained! (except for nights)
-You really enjoy friends and like speaking with adults as well.
-You love doing anything with Daddy, especially if it includes a "project" of any kind or a fort!

Just some of your passions combined in one picture (the garage, guitar, and "fishing boots"):
