Shortly after Jake and Sara left for their last visit in Sonora, we decided to hop in the car and do the same. Reminded me of the old days when spontaneity was a bit more popular and nap schedules were the unknown world. We stayed with Bobbi and Chad, and both boys had a blast, as usual. This was the first trip where Everett was an actual "person". He had so much fun with the big kids--especially with their electric guitar. --again, boy's got moves.
Since Everett was officially initiated into boyhood (see below), I figured it was time he get nice and dirty like the rest of the boys. After some mud was partaken of and worn proudly, he proceeded on to the chalk. Not quite as natural, so Bobbi, in quick supermom motion, swept it away--just before it's consumption.
Relaxing on the porch swing.
Moving onward to the worms, surely the highlight of the day.
My city slicker, clean as a whistle... I couldn't get him dirty! He just wasn't into it, however, he did prove that he was a very hard worker. He shoveled and shoveled and spent most of the time helping Miss Bobbi with the compost. Check out that look of determination!
After their hard work, a little bubbly magic... Oh, and I should mention that the water was a nice shade of brown when they got out!
Of course after all the kids went down, it was adult time once again. We gathered together to discuss the important things in life, such as yurts.
Other topics included:
-Homesteading (very popular among our circle these days)
-Homeschooling
-Composting
-Handmade items and Crafty goodness (stay tuned for giveaways!)
-Communal living (here is where the yurts come in to play)
Jason and I agreed that the trip alone was worth the yurt conversation-how cool would my kids' childhood be, being raised in a yurt? They even make them in trees! Splendid.
