It started on Friday afternoon. The boys were packed for Gigi and Papa's as we were expecting our good friends Jake and Sara for some overnight double-date action.
Finding out that it was their first time away from both girls since their youngest, Elise, was born AND that that they had not had their picture taken as a couple since their wedding day, I pressured them to follow me downtown for a small photo shoot.
I wasn't prepared for it to get hot and heavy.
After they fueled my obsession with the new gadget, we headed to a local dinner at Ragoots, followed by the great movie, Gran Torino. Of course every evening with Jake and Sara includes a board game, to which I sadly took last (rarely happens...believe that!). We all slept in until 8:30 (gasp) and a bountiful hot breakfast proceeded. Good convo followed--to be expected it wasn't light--adoption, socialism, materialism, homeschooling, homesteading, child-rearing, you get the picture.
After waving good-bye, we ended our rendezvous and headed to pick the boys up. It was surely memorable, you two, and we are so sad you had to head back to Missouri.
We miss you already!
