Photo of the Week

As I was checking out in Target today, my total came to $55.48. I gave the gal $55 in cash. She handed me $46 back... it was strange. I was stuck in a hopeful moment of "maybe I gave her a $100 instead?". Even still, it didn't add up. I had a split second of thinking that I could possibly get away with it. Then, my friend, the Holy Spirit (aka: God), gave me a talking to. It didn't take long for me to ask the gal to open her drawer and confirm that I did, in fact, give her the near-exact change.
As I walked away, with my one bag in hand (that's Target for you), I thanked God for the strength to do such a simple task. When money is tight and everything is monitored (via-cash bucket, info to come!), $46 could buy a lot of fun and unnecessary things (naturally they would be unnecessary)!
I digress. There is a purpose and there is a moral, believe it or not.

Walking away from Target, he whispered into my ear, "Well done, good and faithful servant". That's all I needed.
Then he goes beyond, which his pattern has been throughout my life as a girl, and now as a married woman and mother (thank you parents for praying for God's favor!).
I head to the bike store to fix my SIXTH flat tire from my jogger stroller. That would be sixth in the last three months, thank you, something I'm not pleased with, and something I can't necessarily control. Worst part is it costs $25 to do it each time (which comes out of the cash bucket, which in the end hurts my unnecessary spending!).
After blowing up the tire, the owner said, "this makes number six, right?"... I responded, "unfortunately". He handed it over and said, "now get out of here, I can't charge you for that!". After doing the courtesy arguing (which didn't last long, I might add), I fled the store, thanking Christ all the way home. He really does bless you when you do the right thing.

Now, I know this isn't that big of a deal to you, but it is a reminder that his mercy endures forever. He is always watching, knowing, speaking. It's up to us to listen and react!

"O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever."
