A Makeover

I told "The Gige" (rhymes with siege), awesome mother-in-law and stellar watcher of my children that I was looking for an antique-ish high chair (doll-size) and to keep her eyes open if she happen to be circuiting the antique scene. I had spotted one in a Land of Nod magazine (love that store!) and couldn't get it out of my mind. It would be the perfect accessory to Scarlett's room, don't you think?
Well, I got a call last week that she had found one at Tuesday Morning (a discount store) for $14. Score! Although it was a bit "country" with the tulips, not entirely sold, if you know what I'm talking about...but, still much better than the plastic ones...
Meet "Two Lippy":
After Kid and Daddy Mock filled the tulip on the tray with wood filler, I sanded, painted, and made a little cover for the chair using all scrap fabric. It turned out so cute (still a bit country, but much better than the tulips!), I kind of wanted to play dolls myself.
I still have ruffles to do for the crib skirt that I have been dragging my feet on, but fortunately, the Gige is taking the kids on Friday so I can spend all day to sew. No excuses, right?
