Newsflash: Did you know that our budget doesn't change even though we'll be adding another child into the family?
Nor does our salary or our expenses (other than rising!)... this just hit me a month or two ago as I was out trying to grab Kid some long sleeved T's... I realized that I was,
a:shopping in the wrong season (clearly everything is full priced now),
b:holy cow, I'm shopping for three kids!
c: holy, cow, I'm shopping for a girl, which is much more expensive and fun!
And so began my reality check. And so began more thrifting, being less picky, and using time and effort to repurpose, spruce up, and add some spice.
These Narrtjie corduroy overalls were too hard to pass up at the thrift store... they were a bit plain, so I decided to add the little heart knee pads, turning them somewhat-Mini Boden (except not $28). Excuse the coloring and photo quality...flash work, less-than impressive.
And, aye, I promised myself I would not go all "pageanty" with her wardrobe...but as mentioned before, I am hands-down sucker for ruffles. Blame it on having two boys. Alas, I introduce the all-purpose newborn pants (thanks Grami!), with a bit of bum flare.
Add a cloth diaper to the mix and girlfriend is going to have some booty!
