Kid Votes Yes on Prop 8

Need an explanation?
Read below!
We do book time prior to nap and bedtime. Kid usually gets 2 books or three Bible stories. Today we did Bible stories of which he chose Goliath (of course), Adam and Eve (his latest favorite), and Noah's Ark. Conversation following:

Kid: Why did Noah only bring two of every animal?
Me: Because that's what God told him to do.
Kid: Why didn't he bring families?
Me: There probably wasn't much room for families of every animal, so he just had them bring a girl and a boy (big mistake, why did I not see this coming?!).
Kid: Why a girl and a boy? Why not two boys like me and Everett?
Me: (holy smokes) Well, because when they landed, he wanted them to create families, you know, like a Mommy, Daddy, and kids...that way they could re-populate the earth with all the animals.
Kid: Oh, only a Mommy and a Daddy can make a family!
Me: Well, technically, yes.

Another funny moment today...

After grocery shopping, the skies cleared and I sent the boys outside. When I called them in for lunch, Kid had separate piles of mud scattered on the back patio. I asked what he was doing:

Kid: I'm branding my calves.

Me: (where the heck did he learn that?) Oh! I see you have a brand here (pointing to his stick with the mud tip).

Kid: Yes, these are my calves, and I have been working very hard as a farmer. Farmers work very hard, you know.
Me: Yes, I did know that. You must be hungry!
Kid: I am, but I'm not done. I have this baby calf here to brand and that calf over there to brand. When I am done with them both, I will set my brand over by the fire to get hot again. Then I will take my break.
Me: I see. Okay, well, I'll bring Bee inside and come get you in two minutes.
Kid: Sure. He wasn't working very hard, so that's okay.

Weekend Stats

Bike Ride
Attitude: Started great, ended in misery.
Length: Approximately a mile too long. Kid seems to cap out at 2 miles.
Weather: Cold, but refreshing. Fall leaves still intact. A portion of country is good for the soul.

Spectacular Sunset
Attitude: Grateful, yet feeling cheated. Oh, how I loathe the long evenings of winter.
Setting: So what if it's over Target, it's still beautiful, still created by God. At least it's not over Wal-Mart.
Regrets: Husband wasn't here to make out with when capturing it's beauty. Darn.
Christmas Parade
Attitude: Just right!
Attending: A good group of friends. Nursing babies, excited kiddos, and a large uterus in tow.
Contents: The usual evening parade must-haves: Pizza and hot cocoa (must mention Bee downed FIVE pieces of pizza--I think that's a record for anyone in the family, including six-foot-four Uncle Jakey).

Not Pictured
-A very much needed girls' night, complete with many delicious appetizers, desserts and homemade hot apple cider.
-A dropping baby. That's right, Scarlett has dropped! My first and only baby to actually do what nature intended! Did I mention after the major upheaval I created at Kaiser, I have officially been granted a VBAC (after two c-sections...in California, that's a miracle!)?
-Lots of family time, projects, and photo shoots.
-Three guys sleeping, one Momma who seems to have caught the "final weeks" adrenaline bug.
