Pippi Does PR

Honey can officially don the Pippi signature hair-do! My heart nearly burst with joy when my toddler came walking around the corner in her pigtails. She seems so grown up!
I've been missing on our little family notepad. Reason being is that we are so completely and utterly sidetracked with the fact that we are moving!
Although it is a bit sad to leave the Retro Rental and the special commune we have here with Next Door, it's time to be homeowners again. It just didn't make much sense to be here financially. Also, we have a wonderful new journey ahead of us as being real homesteaders!

My passion and desire for sustainability, healthy living, and nature has been made quite apparent on this family journal. It seems about time that we have the space to do make it happen.
That being said, by purchasing a large piece of land, we are greatly compromising on our home, which means there will be some major "before and after" photos coming again!

This will be yet another downsize for us, which I am surprisingly excited about. It will also be somewhat of a challenge as interior cinder blocks (yes, your read that correctly), original 60's EVERYTHING and a small footprint of a home (matching a small footprint of an updating budget) are all a part of the package.
Seems to be a Bee Hive forte to make major life changes, but we are sure hoping that this will be our stable and long term location. It's not a dream house by any means, but the beauty (in its lack of beauty) is we have the space for more livestock, gardening, tree climbing, fruit picking, and quad riding!
We are currently in escrow, but are anticipating packing, moving, and renovating within the next few weeks.

What am I currently excited about? Daddy Mock and I have decided to not have internet at the property. This is a huge issue in our family and we are ready to remove it completely to give us the time back that we've allowed it to steal. It's amazing how things in life can become quite addictive and complicated, and with endless opportunities to show us what we "need" or "want" also telling us what we aren't or don't have, provided by just a click, we both decided it would be better to not have that available.
I should mention that internet issues are mostly mine--regardless, I have an amazing husband who is in support of the ban!

My small little business still needs to be cared for, though, so unfortunately, this means I can blog and post once a week at our local Starbucks (oh darn)! I'm hoping that this will provide an opportunity for me to keep our family journal updated as well.

Do stand by as we go through yet another transition! I've always been very anal and adamant about having our new homes set up and ready within a week or two, but with our new little homestead, it's just not going to be possible. Pray that I have the patience and ability to do things right and orderly in the renovation process, Lord knows I will need it!

Thanks be to God who provided this opportunity and allowed us to get this home for well under our price range. He is good!
