Recently, we were blessed with a check to pay for Everett to attend preschool 3 days/ week while Momma got used to her new routine...it's a part of Kid's school, so the drop off/pick up times work out well. I initially didn't know how I would feel about sending him. Kid didn't go to pre-school and I like having him here with Lulu and I. However, I gladly accepted as I didn't know what the world of twins would encompass and it also gave me hope to actually jog 3X/ week without having four children to push!
When I told Ev the news, he was elated. Not one hesitation, he was ready to start that day. We waited to start him until we were home with the babies and had a week or so under our belt. Now, having a firstborn, the first day of anything would involve clinging to the leg, observing, shyness, hesitation, etc....this second child, a whole different story.
Here he is the minute before we enter the "unknown":
The second we walked in, he introduced himself, asked where to put his backpack, and started playing with the toys and other kids. I sat in astonishment as he had never been there, nor had he ever met any of these people. The joys of a second child, that and just difference in personality.
All three of the older kids were separated all day. The reunion is quite special to see as they are so excited to spend time together when they get home.
Thanks, Ev, for making it so easy to leave you... you are such a delight!
...and yes, something about loading five children, their lunches and their bags in the car before 7:30am allows for some grace in the "combing the hair department"...
