Two Months

The time is cruising by. I am so grateful that they were born so little because their "newborn-ness" has hung around. By this time, Everett's cheeks were touching his chest.

My sweet baldy-blonds at 2 months:
(Elias-August)

Finally some developmental notes:

The babies are smiling. All moms know how when your baby smiles at you, it has such a powerful effect on your level of joy at the moment. To have two babies smile, it's a supernatural experience. That definition may sound a bit dramatic, but I can't find other words to describe the feeling. It's similar to when I check on them in their cribs and see their heads up against each other, or their arms intertwined. It's supernatural, only God-given. What a gift!

The growth spurt proved to be true. After two nights of them waking every 1-2.5 hrs to eat, they are now doing consistent 5-6 hr stretches. There is a God and he loves me! They have gained almost two pounds in just two weeks. They are getting rolls everywhere (well, Ozzie's are a bit thinner), their faces are getting pudgy, and they are much stronger.

They hold their heads up very well and are working on their back muscles too. I love tummy sleeping for this reason, they seem so strong for being so small.

Naps are the least consistent of all of my littles, most likely because there are two temperaments/ sleep needs to deal with and I prefer to feed them at the same time. Therefore if one baby wakes, I wake the other and they both get fed. They take anywhere from 45min naps to 2hr naps.

Temperaments still seem to be similar. They are sweet, sweet boys--rarely fussy and mostly content. Here's to a healthy and happy third month, babies!
